Port Aransas may be a small beach town, but there are a LOT of great places to eat — from casual seafood shacks to waterfront restaurants and some amazing date-night spots. If you’re planning a trip to Port Aransas, one of the first questions people ask is:

“Where should we eat?”

And honestly… that’s a harder question than it sounds. Are you looking for…

  • Waterfront views with seafood?
  • Something casual after a beach day?
  • A kid-friendly spot everyone will enjoy?
  • Or maybe a date-night dinner worth dressing up for?

Instead of giving you a long, overwhelming list, I’ve put together my go-to favorite restaurants below to help you get started. It’s the same guide I send to friends visiting Port Aransas.

When you download the Restaurant Guide you’ll find:

  • My favorite restaurants on the island
  • Dining spots organized by vibe
  • Easy options for families and groups
  • Casual beach dining and date-night restaurants

Planning for family meals while you’re on vacation in Port A shouldn’t be so stressful. I created the Port Aransas Restaurant Guide with my favorite dining spots in town.

It’s the same guide I send to friends visiting Port Aransas. Download it here

Popular restaurants in Port Aransas

These are some of the places my family, our friends and visitors tend to love on their first trip to Port Aransas.

Virginia’s on the Bay

One of the most popular waterfront restaurants in town. The outdoor deck overlooks the marina and it’s a great spot for seafood. Watch the boats come in the marina in the evenings and take in the stunning sunset views.

FINS Grill & Icehouse

Located near the ferry and Roberts Point Park, FINS is a fun, lively spot right on the water with a big outdoor patio, great seafood, and mouth-watering burgers.

Tortuga’s Saltwater Grill

If you’re looking for a great date-night dinner, Tortuga’s is one of the most consistently recommended restaurants in Port Aransas. The hip vibe and upscale menu of steaks and seafood keeps local and visitors coming back.

Coffee Waves

Coffee Waves is a favorite morning stop for coffee, breakfast, and pastries. It has a laid-back, stay-a-while atmosphere, and is a good spot for cool down later in the day with some homemade gelato.

But these are just a few highlights

There are many more great restaurants in Port A, and it helps to know which ones are best for different situations. But choosing where to eat can depend on what kind of experience you’re looking for — waterfront views, family-friendly dining, or a casual beach-day meal.

That’s why I organized my Port Aransas Restaurant Guide by vibe… because the atmosphere you’re looking for matters.

A quick local tip: restaurants in Port Aransas can get VERY busy during summer, spring break, and weekends. Having a few backup options can make dinner time much easier.

Instead of scrolling through reviews while you’re hungry, you can quickly pick the right spot for the moment. That’s exactly why I created a downloadable guide with even more restaurant recommendations, so you can quickly find the perfect place to eat. It’s free and designed to make planning your trip easier.

The Restaurant Guide includes:

  • Best waterfront restaurants
  • Kid-friendly restaurants families love
  • Casual beach-day dining spots
  • Date night & upscale restaurants
  • Dog-friendly patios
  • Coffee, breakfast
  • Ice cream & sweet treats
  • Quick takeout options for beach houses

Why I made this guide

I created Port Aransas Explorer to help visitors plan easy, fun trips to Port Aransas. After helping so many friends and readers plan their trips, I realized the question I get asked the most is:

“Where should we eat?”

So I put together the restaurant guide I usually text to friends when they’re coming to the island. It’s simple, organized, and easy to use while you’re on vacation (save the link on your phone!).
