Port Aransas isn’t just beach days and fishing charters. It’s also where Gulf shrimp, redfish, and oysters go from boat to plate faster than you can say “pass the hushpuppies.” From dockside dining with picnic tables to waterfront spots perfect for sunset, here’s your go-to list for seafood in Port A.

And if you’re coming to Port Aransas and not eating seafood… we need to talk.

Port Aransas is literally the Fishing Capital of Texas, so yes — you’re in the right place for fresh shrimp, oysters, and Gulf fish that was probably swimming yesterday.

Planning a relaxing beach day? An Amazon Kindle Colorsoft is one of my favorite travel upgrades — it has a color display and you can read comfortably even in bright sun. Find your perfect beach read from these best books of 2025.

Prefer listening? Try Audible and enjoy popular audiobooks while walking along the shore.

But here’s the thing I always tell friends: Not all seafood spots in Port A are the same.

Note: This is by no means a comprehensive list of ALL the seafood restaurants. Almost every restaurant in town offers some type of seafood dishes (except maybe pizza places). These are simply a few of my favorite hotspots that offer delicious seafood options. Hope you find something you enjoy.

Casual, Fresh & Family-Friendly Seafood Spots

Grumbles Seafood Co.

Grumbles Seafood Co.

850 Tarpon St. | 361-749-1990 | View menu

If you want that “we just got off the boat” vibe, this is it. Grumbles is one of those places where you order at the counter, grab a drink, and sit inside comfortably or outside watching the water. Everything is Gulf-caught, which is exactly what you want when you’re on the coast. It’s an easy first-night dinner spot when you roll into town.

What I’d order:

  • Peel & eat shrimp
  • Hushpuppies with ground mustard
  • Anything “catch of the day”

For the non-seafood person in your group: Go for the Grilled Chicken Sando with fries.

FINS Grill & Icehouse

FINS Grill & Icehouse

420 W Cotter Ave. | 361-749-8646 | View menu

FINS is one of the most popular, laid-back seafood spots in Port A—especially for families. It’s right by the marina, has tons of seating, and the menu is huge (which is great if you’ve got picky eaters in your group).

What I’d order:

  • Fish tacos
  • Fried shrimp basket
  • Crab cake sliders

Bonus: They’ll cook your catch if you just stepped off fishing boat.
For the non-seafood eater in your group: go for the classic FINS Burger, always a hit.

Seafood & Spaghetti Works

Seafood & Spaghetti Works

910 TX-361 | 361-749-5666 | View menu

This place has been around forever—and there’s a reason. Seafood & Spaghetti Works is a little different (seafood + Italian), but it totally works. Think big portions, family-friendly, something for everyone

What I’d order:

  • Seafood pasta
  • Coconut shrimp
  • The big combo platters if you’re sharing

For the non-seafood person in your group: try one of their pizzas with your choice of toppings, they’re all good!

Virginia’s On the Bay

815 Trout St. | 361-749-4088 | View menu

If you want seafood + a view, this is a must. Virginia’s sits right on the water, and you can literally watch the boats come in while you eat. It’s one of those classic Port A experiences and a perfect place to watch the sunset over dinner.

What I’d order:

  • Shrimp & grits
  • Blackened fish
  • A frozen margarita at sunset

Local tip: Go early and ask for a table by the “window” railing, so you’ll have a primo view of the marina and sunset.

Seafood With a View (Date Night Worthy)

Tortuga’s Saltwater Grill

429 N Alister St. | 361-749-2739 | View menu

This is where I’d tell you to go if you want a slightly nicer dinner without being stuffy. Tortuga’s is consistently one of the top-rated seafood spots in town, with a mix of steaks and seafood if your group wants options.

What I’d order:

  • Crab-crusted redfish
  • Oysters on the half shell
  • Shrimp & grits

For the non-seafood lover in your group: try the Churrasco Steak. You won’t be disappointed.

Lisabella’s Bistro & Bar

Lisabella’s at Cinnamon Shore

5009 TX-361 | 361-749-4222 | View menu

If you’re doing a date night or nicer dinner, this is one of the best spots on the island. It’s located in Cinnamon Shore, so the setting alone feels a little newer and more elevated than some Port A seafood restaurants. This is one of those places people talk about after their trip.

What I’d order:

  • Fresh catch specials
  • Seafood enchiladas
  • That famous “Mermaid Soup”

For the non-seafood eater in your group: try the delicious Airline Chicken.

Want Something Messy + Fun?

The Crazy Cajun Seafood Restaurant

303 E Beach St. | 361-749-5069 | View menu

If you’re traveling with a group or kids who love seafood, this is a fun place. At The Crazy Cajun, they dump the seafood boil right on the table — shrimp, crab, sausage, corn, potatoes — the whole thing. It’s delicious and chaotic in the best way, and perfect for a casual seafood night.
